New Zealand has a healthy predilection for achievement and icons.
It used to be almost exclusively mastering-the-elements/sport/physical activity-based – All Blacks, Ed Hillary, America’s Cup, Peter Snell, that sort of stuff.
There is another side, though.
The Arts Foundation of New Zealand has established whakamana hiranga to celebrate living icons of NZ culture.
Hone Tuwhare is one of them.
I discovered this gem
tucked away on Charlotte Yate’s website.
Too good to be restricted to a small audience.
And buy the album. It’s choice.
>It’s a very impressive video – The older man is you, I think? I noticed some german words written on his list…Fine Blog anyway
>The older white man hiding behind the cutout of Freddy Flintoff is me….Hone Tuwhare is Maori and almost 30 years my senior.I also noticed the German numerals (spelled phonetically) and it turns out he studied in Germany in 1985.
>They are all nice video and he also he is very handsame guy good luck.
