Franzi[ska] Hasse is a photographer based in Munich.

I know her parents moderately well and like them more than moderately – he’s a nuclear physicist with an element named after him and she’s a closet ceramicist with a gallery in their home in Darmstadt.

Lovely girl.

She defends the formality of her given name fiercely and it appears to be an honour to be asked to call her by the abbreviated form that the family uses.

I still can’t really get used to it so when I see her, it’s always “Hey, Franziopenbracketsskaclosebrackets”
